~ The Another Way to Study Mathematics ~

Monday, April 9th 2012, we met again with Mr.Marsigit, our lecture of english. He showed us again about mathematical content in video. But, i always think his videos are interesting, because we could learn mathematics with another way. Then, there is the reflection from this videos.
First, English_Greatest_Common_Factor.flv
Todays lesson want discuss about common factors and grouping.
The objectives are :
>Find the greatest common factor (GCF) of numbers
>Find the GCF of terms
>Factor out the GCF
>Factor a four_term expression by grouping
So let`s get started with some definition in particular Product and Factor, that say we have an expression :

Say that 15 is the product and the factors are 3 and 5
What we mean by factoring is that comfactoring completely  means to have all factors as prime numbers.
In this case we have 15 broken down into factors 3 and 5.
Another examples is 20 = 2.2.5 ( twenty would be broken into the prime numbers of two times two times five), this number cannot be broken down any feature.
To find the greatest Common Factor (GCF) of Numbers, we are provided with a list of integers. In the list the largest common factor of the integers is noun is greatest common factors. So let`s taken an example :
45= 3.3.5= 32.5 ( fourty five can be broken down of three times three times five or three square times five)

The Interesting Video of Math Content

At the beginning of April  we met again with Mr. Marsigit, he showed us again about five videos of math. There were very interesting videos. He has a lof of videos in his laptop. I think he always has some interesting methods to teach us.
There was some reflection of his videos.
First is English_angle.flv

Parts of an Angle
The corner point of an angle is called the vertex
And the two straight sides are called arms
(at the top is initial side and at the bottom is terminal side)
The angle is the amount of turn between each arm.

Measure of Angle
We can know the measure of angle by direction the terminal side goes in :
There is positive (+) direction.
if an angle is generated by a-counter clockwise rotation.
The measure of the angle is 130⁰
So there is positive angle

My Math Song ^^ “Even and Odd Numbers”

*Tone : “Lihat Kebunku”

Look at Mathematics, full of the numbers.
There is even numbers and there is odd numbers.
Full of my days is talking about them.
Even, odd numbers there are real numbers

Look at Mathematics, full of the numbers.
There is even numbers and there is odd numbers.
Full of my days is talking about them.
Even, odd numbers there are integers.

*It`s first time for me make math song.. It is very interesting ^^

Reflection of Mathematical Content

After that, Mr. Marsigit showed mathematical content for us. There were four content. The content were Derivative, Limit by inspection, Integer and angle.

The first content was about derivative  :
In Calculus, a branch of mathematics, the derivative is a measure of how a function changes as its input changes.
We must learn about Derivative notation before we will learn about derivative.
The derivative is f prim of x slashy dot thing = f’(x) or y’ or dy/dx.
Derivative is slope of tangent line at point (x, f(x)) ((x+h),f(x+h)), h is change of x.Then Slope is (change in y)/(change of x)=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)= raise/run
Definition of derivative
F’(x)= lim h→0 (f(x+h)-f(x))/h
But, there is an easy formula of deritative :
f(x)= x^n
f’(x)= n.x^n-1
